A Rough Start for the Red Sox in the 1st
It was a shaky start for our Boston Red Sox as they fell behind early against the Chicago Cubs. In the bottom of the 1st inning, Seiya Suzuki launched a 389-foot homer, bringing in Michael Busch and Kyle Tucker after they both walked. Our boys were quickly down 0-3, and unfortunately, we couldn’t muster any runs in response during our at-bats in the opening frame.A Spark in the 3rd Inning
Things started looking up in the top of the 3rd as Jarren Duran got on base with a walk, and Alex Bregman followed with a single, pushing Duran to third. Then, Roman Anthony stepped up and doubled to center, allowing Duran to score our first and only run of the game. It was an exciting moment, making the score 1-3, but unfortunately, the inning ended with Carlos Narváez striking out swinging.Cubs Extend Their Lead and Seize the Game
By the 6th inning, the Cubs added another run to their tally when Ian Happ's double was followed by Nico Hoerner’s single, driving Happ home. At this point, the Cubs led 4-1. The Red Sox struggled to capitalize on opportunities throughout the remaining innings, despite some base hits and potential scoring chances. Ceddanne Rafaela and Marcelo Mayer both managed hits later in the game, but double plays snuffed out our hopes of a comeback. The Cubs' bullpen held strong, and our bats couldn't catch fire again. It's never easy to see a loss, especially when the team shows glimpses of promise. Here's hoping for a solid bounce-back in the next game. Let's go, Sox!
