Tough Day for the Cubs
Ouch. That one stings. Our Cubbies couldn't get anything going offensively, ultimately falling to the Royals 6-0. Let's dive into the painful details.

Pitching Duel Early On
Both teams started out strong on the mound, with scoreless innings through the first four.

Missed Opportunities
The 5th inning really did us in. Mike Tauchman was hit by a pitch (thankfully, he seems okay!

Disaster Strikes in the Bottom of the 5th
Everything unraveled in the bottom of the 5th inning. The Royals' Salvador Perez hit a 3-run homer, and the Royals piled on 6 runs in the inning. Vinnie Pasquantino and Adam Frazier also came through big for Kansas City, and our bullpen just couldn’t stop the bleeding.
Offensive Struggles
Seiya Suzuki tried his best to spark something with a walk in the 4th and a single in the 7th, but nothing materialized. Ian Happ also walked but got stranded. Overall, it was just a tough day at the plate for our squad, registering only 4 hits.
Late Attempt Reneged
Patrick Wisdom contributed with a single in the 8th inning, but we stranded him. In the 9th, Suzuki doubled, but there was no one to drive him home.
Conclusion
It's one of those games we need to put behind us quickly. Our hits were just not timely, and we couldn’t find our rhythm. Let's regroup and come back stronger in the next game. Go Cubs Go!
