Frustrating Start for the Reds
The Cincinnati Reds faced off against the Milwaukee Brewers and unfortunately, it wasn't the start we were hoping for. In the top of the 1st inning, our boys couldn’t get much going with Jonathan India flying out to shortstop, Elly De La Cruz flying out to center, and TJ Friedl grounding out to first.
Milwaukee's Early Surge
The Brewers didn't waste any time. After Jackson Chourio walked and stole second, and Garrett Mitchell walked, Willy Adames hit a crushing homer to right field, bringing home three runs.

Tough Breaks for the Reds
Despite our enthusiasm, the Reds struggled to get anything going offensively. Noelvi Marte had a promising double in the 3rd inning but it was soon followed by a heartbreaking double play. Even when Ty France managed a single in the 2nd inning, there was no follow-up.
Brewers Stay Dominant
The Brewers extended their lead to 8-0 by the end of the 3rd inning with additional runs from Sal Frelick and Rhys Hoskins. Our defense tried to fight back with new players like Will Benson and Jake Fraley, but the Brewers maintained their commanding lead.
Reds Finally on the Board!
At last, in the top of the 7th inning, Spencer Steer gave us something to cheer about with a homer to left.

A Solid Finish but Not Enough
Despite our efforts, the Brewers held strong in the final innings. De La Cruz and Friedl couldn't rally in the 8th inning despite Jeimer Candelario's double. The 9th inning saw Fairchild, Marte, and Luke Maile all go down quietly, sealing a frustrating loss at 8-3.
Looking Forward
While today’s game didn’t go our way, let's not lose heart. The talent is there, and we've seen our guys shine in tough spots before. Let's regroup and get ready for the next challenge. Go Reds!
