Tough Start for the Tigers

As a Detroit Tigers fan, this game tested the nerves right from the get-go. The first inning didn't go our way as the Guardians put up an early lead. Jose Ramirez showcased his talent with a triple that brought Steven Kwan home and soon after, Carlos Santana got on base with an infield single that scored Ramirez. By the end of the first inning, the score was already 2-0 in favor of the Guardians.

Missed Opportunities

The Tigers had a few promising moments but couldn't capitalize on them. In the bottom of the 3rd, Kerry Carpenter and Gleyber Torres both walked, creating a possible scoring opportunity, but Colt Keith fouled out, leaving us still chasing the Guardians. It felt like every attempt we made was stifled – Javier Baez and Akil Baddoo didn't manage to get those elusive hits when we needed them.

A Spark from Torkelson

The highlight of the game had to be Spencer Torkelson's homer in the 6th inning. That 405-foot homer to left-center was just the spark we needed, bringing life back into Comerica Park! 🎉 It tightened the game to 2-1, giving us hope. Unfortunately, the Guardians’ Steven Kwan drove in another run in the 9th, making it 3-1, and solidified their victory.

Guardians Seal the Deal

The bottom of the 9th was our last stand, but Emmanuel Clase was solid for the Guardians on the mound. Despite a pinch-hit attempt by Justyn-Henry Malloy and Matt Vierling, we couldn’t get the breakthrough we desperately needed. The final out, a flyout from Vierling, concluded a challenging game with the Tigers losing 3-1. Certainly not the outcome we hoped for, but the season’s not over yet, and there's always hope for redemption in the next matchup! 💪🐯
