A Tough Loss for the Rockies

What a nail-biter we had down in the desert! Despite some solid efforts, the Colorado Rockies fell to the Arizona Diamondbacks 1-0. The only run of the game came too early for our liking, with Ketel Marte getting a homer in the bottom of the 1st inning. 🚀 It was definitely a tough match for the team, but they fought until the last pitch.

Pitching Duel and Defensive Play

Our pitchers did a commendable job containing the Diamondbacks after that initial run. It was mostly a smooth affair with Ryan Rolison relieving our starting pitcher to keep the score tight. Notably, Daniel Bard held his ground well and managed to pull us through without allowing further runs. 👍 Our fielding was also largely resilient, with Brenton Doyle and Hunter Goodman making key plays to ensure the Diamondbacks didn’t find home plate again.

Late Inning Drama

We held onto hope in the final inning. After Kyle Farmer singled to right 🔥 and with Tyler Freeman coming in as a pinch runner, we had our chances. Hunter Goodman doubled, pushing Freeman to third and with Ryan McMahon being intentionally walked, bases were nearly loaded. The tension was high, but ultimately Brenton Doyle and Michael Toglia couldn't land the hit that would have brought us back.

Looking Forward

It wasn’t the outcome any of us hoped for, but there were positive signs. With more opportunities like this, it’s only a matter of time before our team delivers those key hits. Let's gear up for the next one and keep supporting our Rockies. Go Rockies! 💪⚾
