Tough Day in Detroit
Hey Rockies fans, it was a rough outing for us today as we faced off against the Detroit Tigers and unfortunately fell with a final score of 0-11. Let's dive into the game and see what unfolded inning by inning.First Inning: Early Trouble
We got off to a slow start, with Charlie Blackmon lining out, Ezequiel Tovar striking out, and Brenton Doyle flying out. No runners on base for us. Detroit, however, got on the board early when Parker Meadows homered to right, making it 0-1. Our pitching struggled, and Riley Greene and Kerry Carpenter kept the pressure on. Luckily, Matt Vierling and Andy Ibáñez couldn't capitalize, ending the inning at 0-1.Second Inning: Detroit Domination
In the top of the second, Ryan McMahon managed to single to left, giving us a small glimmer of hope. Unfortunately, an immediate double play ended that. The Tigers, though, had a field day. Walks and errors loaded the bases, and Riley Greene's triple cleared them out, making it 0-5. Vierling then singled to drive Greene in, ending the inning at 0-5 in favor of the Tigers.Third Inning: A Quiet Game for the Rockies
Our bats stayed quiet in the third. Sam Hilliard, Hunter Goodman, and Jordan Beck were swiftly retired. We managed to hold the Tigers, with only Colt Keith reaching base. A bit of a relief moment, but the damage was already done with their 0-5 lead.Mid-Game Struggles
The fourth inning didn't look much different. Charlie Blackmon and Ezequiel Tovar were retired quickly, and Brenton Doyle followed suit. Detroit had a minor scare with a walk to Parker Meadows, but a lineout double play ended their threat. By the fifth inning, it felt like déjà vu with quick outs from our side and Detroit’s side, maintaining their 0-5 lead.Sixth Inning: Disaster Strikes Again
In the sixth, Tigers capitalized on our mistakes. Errors, walks, and wild pitches led to additional runs. Meadows, Greene, and Vierling kept the carousel moving and added six more runs. Our pitching change to Lawrence couldn’t stop Ibáñez's single driving in even more. They ended the inning with a whopping 11-0 lead.Late Inning Silence
We brought in some subs with Aaron Schunk and pitching changes in the later innings, but our bats remained silent. Facing a new set of Tigers defenders, we couldn't catch any breaks. The bottom of the seventh and eighth were quick for Detroit, maintaining their monstrous lead.Ninth Inning Conclusion
The final inning saw us bringing in Sam Hilliard and others, but nothing changed. Detroit’s defense remained stellar, and we couldn’t muster any late game rallies. A series of groundouts and strikeouts sealed our fate at 0-11.Conclusion
It was a tough pill to swallow, Rockies fans. The Tigers' pitching and our defensive errors made a perfect storm against us today. Let’s keep our heads up and look forward to the next game.

Rockies for life!
