Tigers Roar in Toronto!
What a nail-biter!
Early Lead Secured by Greene
Our offense kicked into gear early in the 2nd inning, with Riley Greene launching a solo homer that traveled a whopping 402 feet to center field. Not long after, Zach McKinstry extended the lead in the 4th inning with a solo shot of his own. By the end of the 5th, thanks to Greene's double that brought home two runs, we were enjoying a comfortable 4-0 lead!
Tense Moments in the Late Innings
Toronto wasn’t backing down, though. They responded in the 6th with a two-run homer courtesy of Varsho, followed by Bichette's bomb in the 8th, shrinking our lead to just one run. But leave it to Javier Báez to send one flying 408 feet for a crucial insurance run in the 8th inning. The Blue Jays managed another run in the 8th, but our bullpen held firm. Beau Brieske showed great nerves of steel to close out the game in the 9th for us. I could feel my heart racing - what a game!
Final Thoughts
Kudos to the team for not only driving in the runs when needed but also for the strong defensive plays. The Blue Jays made a valiant comeback attempt, but our Tigers shut the door and secured a well-deserved win. Cheers to everyone for this thrilling victory!
