Game Overview
What a nail-biter! The Baltimore Orioles pulled off a sensational 7-5 victory over the Houston Astros.
Early Innings
The game started with a bit of a slow pace. Adley Rutschman and Gunnar Henderson couldn't break through in the bottom of the 1st, leaving the scoreboard untouched. Anthony Santander got us on board in the 2nd inning as Cedric Mullins reached base. Ramon Urías brought in the first run thanks to an error by the Astros' shortstop, Jeremy Peña.In the Thick of It
The Astros responded quickly in the 3rd. Jose Altuve homered and Peña and Jake Meyers also contributed, making it a tough inning for us. We were down 4-1, but Colton Cowser sparked hope with a solo homer in the bottom of the 3rd. The Astros added another run in the 6th, leaving us behind 2-5.The Big Comeback
Everything changed in the 8th inning! Cowser and Rutschman set the stage, and Santander went deep with a heroic 403-foot homer to bring us back into the game!
Then, Austin Slater reached base with an infield single and Urías tripled him home to add an insurance run. We went up 7-5 and the crowd was electrified.
Closing it Out
Domingo Germán came in to close it out. He made quick work of Ben Gamel, Altuve, and Alex Bregman, ensuring no late-game heroics from the Astros. The final out was a flyout to Cowser in center, and just like that, the Orioles secured an incredible comeback victory. Conclusion
Baltimore Orioles fans, this game was one for the books! From Cowser's early hustle to Santander's unforgettable homer, our team showed incredible resilience. Let's carry this momentum forward and keep rooting for our O’s!
