Hey Angels fans!
Early Inning Highlights
We started strong with Reid Detmers on the mound, who made quick work of the Dodgers in the top of the 1st. In the bottom of the 2nd, Logan O’Hoppe blasted a solo homer to center, giving us an early 1-0 lead. Unfortunately, that lead didn’t last long.Dodgers Bounce Back
The Dodgers responded in the top of the 3rd with Shohei Ohtani and Mookie Betts driving in runs to make it 2-1 Dodgers. Our defense held strong after that, with some impressive strikeouts from our pitchers. Kudos to our boys for keeping it close!
Ward’s Bomb Brings Us Level
In the bottom of the 5th, Taylor Ward smashed a homer to right, tying the game at 2-2. It was a tense back-and-forth game, folks! Zach Neto also had some great moments, including a crucial single and a stolen base, but we couldn’t capitalize further in that inning.Pitching Duel Continues
Both teams' pitchers were dealing, with Hunter Strickland and José Quijada coming in and shutting down the Dodgers through the 7th and 8th innings. Reyes Moronta also did his part in keeping the score tied as we headed into extra innings.
Extra Inning Heartbreak
Top of the 10th was a tough one for us. The Dodgers’ Miguel Rojas singled home Tommy Edman, and Mookie Betts hit a crushing 3-run homer off of Gerardo Contreras to extend their lead to 6-2. Our bats went quiet in the bottom of the inning, sealing the loss.
Looking Forward
Despite the loss, there were some promising highlights, especially from O’Hoppe and Ward. Let’s rally around our Halos and come back stronger in the next game. Keep the faith, #Angels fans! Halo Up!
