A Tough Game for the Rockies

Fellow Rockies fans, it was one of those nights at Coors Field as our boys fell to the Minnesota Twins, 7-1. Despite the final score, there were some highlights worth mentioning, even if things didn't go our way! 🌟⚾

Early Inning Struggles

The game started with some tight pitching that initially kept the Twins off the board, even after a tense moment in the first inning with the bases loaded. Kudos to our boys for holding their ground early! However, the tides turned in the 3rd inning. After Kody Clemens smacked a triple bringing in a run, Matt Wallner homered, giving the Twins a 3-0 lead. We did see a spark of excitement when Mickey Moniak blasted a solo home run to bring us within two runs in the bottom of the 3rd. 🚀

Middle Innings and Pitching Changes

The middle innings saw Ryan McMahon hitting a couple of doubles, showing his consistent form, but unfortunately, we couldn't follow up with more runs. A pitching change in the 4th inning with Ryan Rolison stepping in didn’t stop Twins' Royce Lewis from homering, stretching their lead. The Twins kept adding to the score with another homer from Harrison Bader in the 6th inning. Our bullpen tried to hold steady with Jimmy Herget and Nick Agnos stepping in to close the game but gave up few more runs, including another Lewis homer in the 8th inning.

Final Innings and Closing

The 9th inning didn’t see much change in fortune. An error after a Willi Castro triple led to another run for the Twins, and alas, our offense couldn’t stage a comeback. Though tough, it's always great to see moments of brilliant defense and a few solid hits and pitching performances. Thank you, Rockies, for always keeping the fight alive in every inning. Let's keep the spirits high as we look forward to the next game! Let's go Rockies! 💜🖤⚾
