A Promising Start with a Bittersweet Ending
The Philadelphia Phillies hosted the New York Mets, and we were hoping for a high-energy showdown!

Pitchers Dominate Early, Mets Rally Late
The pitchers from both sides held their own through the early innings. Our boys certainly made it tough for the Mets, keeping them scoreless up to the 7th inning. But the dreaded 8th inning brought a tide the Mets rode to victory. After reliever Jeff Hoffman was swapped for Matt Strahm, the Mets came alive, scoring five crucial runs. Our bullpen couldn’t hold the floodgates, allowing five of those runs on key hits by the Mets, including a sacrifice fly by Pete Alonso that tipped the scales in their favor. By the time Orion Kerkering hit the mound, the damage was done.
A Late Comeback Falls Short
Down 6-1 in the 9th, the fight in our Phillies was still alive. Even after our dependable Brandon Marsh flied out, a glimmer of hope emerged as Kody Clemens pinch-hit and delivered a scorching double to right, allowing J.T. Realmuto to score, trimming the deficit to 6-2.
Despite a tough loss with a final score of 6-2 in favor of the Mets, we'll keep our heads up high and look forward to the next game. Let’s go Phillies! Always Philly proud!
