An Intense Battle Falls Short for the Halos
Hey Angels fans, what a rollercoaster of emotions this game was! The Oakland Athletics edged us out with a final score of 6-5, but there were some highs and lows to unpack.

Early Struggles and Quick Comeback
The start of the game saw the A's take an early lead as Lawrence Butler doubled and scored on a throwing error by Logan O'Hoppe. Then Brent Rooker hammered a homer to left field, putting us in a 2-0 hole. But give it up for our boys — we didn't stay down for long. In the bottom of the second inning, Kevin Pillar hit a ground-rule double which set the stage. Logan O'Hoppe's single brought Pillar home, and Zach Neto's clutch single brought in another run, evening the score at 2-2. Mickey Moniak and Luis Rengifo kept the rally going, helping us take a 5-2 lead by the end of the inning.
Holding the Line and Then Slipping
Just as things were looking up, Butler homered to center in the third inning, driving in two runs to close the gap to 5-4. Then, disaster struck in the fourth when Daz Cameron hit a two-run homer, giving the Athletics a 6-5 lead. Our bullpen did a great job keeping the game within reach. Big shout-out to Hunter Strickland, Matt Moore, and Ben Joyce for their solid pitching, particularly in tough spots.

Offense Goes Cold
Unfortunately, our bats went cold after that explosive second inning. Willie Calhoun and Taylor Ward had some tough at-bats, and Nolan Schanuel struck out twice, including a crucial one in the sixth inning when Kevin Pillar was in scoring position.
Looking Ahead
It's tough to lose games like this, but the fight our team showed, especially in the second inning, was promising. Let’s hope the boys can carry that energy forward and get a win in our next game.
Stay positive, Halos fans! We'll get them next time!
