The game got off to a rocky start for us when Alec Bohm singled to right, scoring Trea Turner who had advanced on a wild pitch. In the bottom of the second inning, Mark Vientos doubled to center and Tyrone Taylor came through with a clutch single, driving in Vientos to tie the game at 1-1. Our hopes were back up!
Pitching Duel
Both teams' pitchers settled in after that. Kudos to our bullpen for keeping the Phillies at bay. Tylor Megill and Maton did a fantastic job, and we managed to get out of several jams, including a particularly tense moment in the 8th inning when Walker Díaz struck out Bryce Harper with Trea Turner on third.Heroic Homer by Nimmo!
The turning point came in the bottom of the 6th inning when Brandon Nimmo hit a towering homer to right field, putting us ahead 2-1! That blast turned out to be the game-winning run!
Closing the Door
In the nail-biting 9th inning, Edwin Díaz came in and showed why he is one of the best. After some tense moments, including multiple stolen bases by the Phillies, he struck out Kody Clemens to seal the win. What a finish!
