A Heart-Pounding Start by Acuña Jr.!

What a game opener for our beloved Ronald Acuña Jr.! His epic 467-foot homerun to center field put the Braves up 1-0 and got Truist Park electrified in the very first inning. Those 60-plus homers we've been dreaming aren't far from reality! 
However, following that, Austin Riley, Matt Olson, and Marcell Ozuna couldn't keep the momentum going. It was unfortunate to leave Ozuna and Alex Verdugo stranded on base. Still, a solid start from the Braves!Padres Match and Hold Their Ground
Gavin Sheets quickly tied the score with his homer in the second inning. It seemed like their pitcher found his groove after that, preventing us from capitalizing on a few well-placed hits from Michael Harris II and Acuña Jr. himself. We had the chance to shift the momentum, especially in the 3rd inning, when Riley and Acuña Jr. came on base, but it wasn't to be. Every inning felt like the one to make it happen!
Heartbreaker Double by Machado 
Going into the top of the 9th with a tied score, hearts were hopeful for the Braves to pull through. Alas! Manny Machado's homer stole the lead. Even though hopeful pinch-running by Eli White in the ninth inning gave us some goosebumps, the relentless Padres' defense and pitching clinched their victory. It was a nail-biter till the end and while the outcome wasn't what we'd hoped for, we came close and it was a valiant fight! 
Despite the tough support, our boys gave it everything. Here's to bouncing back even stronger in the next game. Go Braves!
