The Braves scored first in the bottom of the 2nd, thanks to a double by Adam Duvall that brought in Austin Riley. By the end of the 2nd inning, the scoreboard read Giants 0 and Braves 1.Pitching Battles and Missed Opportunities
Our guys struggled to capitalize on opportunities. Despite a walk by Matt Chapman in the 2nd and singles by Curt Casali in the 5th, we couldn’t convert these moments into runs. The Braves extended their lead to 3-0 in the 5th inning, with a double by Riley driving in two more runs. Finally on the Board
In the top of the 6th inning, Jorge Soler doubled to right field and advanced to third on a groundout by Austin Slater. Matt Chapman then doubled to bring Soler home, cutting the Braves’ lead to 3-1. Chapman advanced to third on a wild pitch, but we couldn’t push any further that inning.Pitching Keeps Us in the Game
Our pitchers kept us in it, striking out the Braves in crucial moments. Jarlin Garcia started strong, and Sean Hjelle came in late to strike out Ozzie Albies, Marcell Ozuna, and Matt Olson in the 7th inning.Final Stand, But Fall Short
By the top of the 9th, Matt Chapman reached on an infield single with one out, giving us a glimmer of hope. However, Luis Matos flied out, and pinch-hitter Brett Wisely struck out swinging to end the game.Final Thoughts
Despite the loss, this game had moments of promise. Our pitching staff showed resilience, and Matt Chapman contributed key hits. We need to string those moments together and get those wins! Keep the faith, Giants fans – on to the next!
