Tough Day at the Office: Angels Fall 6-1 to Blue Jays
Hey Angels fans,
First Inning Blues
The game started off challenging with George Springer walking and eventually scoring on an infield single by Ernie Clement. Will Wagner then doubled to right, bringing in two more runs to put the Blue Jays up 3-0 early. Our boys couldn't answer back in the bottom of the inning despite a single by Zach Neto and his stolen base.Third Inning Trouble
The third inning saw Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Spencer Horwitz hitting back-to-back homers, further extending the Blue Jays' lead to 5-0. Although Nolan Schanuel and Zach Neto managed to get on base in our half of the inning, we couldn't bring them home.Middle Innings Hopes and Misses
Despite some promising moments in the middle innings, including Taylor Ward hitting a ground rule double and Brandon Drury's single, we couldn't convert those opportunities into runs. Our bullpen held firm through the middle innings, with no Blue Jays' runs added until the eighth inning.Calhoun's Late Effort
Finally, some late-game excitement came from Willie Calhoun, who hit a towering 396-foot solo homer in the bottom of the ninth. However, it was too little too late as Anthony Rendon walked and advanced to second on fielder's indifference but was left stranded when Brandon Drury struck out swinging to end the game.Final Thoughts
It's always tough to watch our team lose, especially with a 6-1 scoreline. There were some bright spots, like Zach Neto going 3-for-4 and Willie Calhoun's homer, but we'll need more consistency moving forward. Let's keep our heads up and look forward to the next game!Go Angels!
