Mariners Top the Astros in a Stellar Game
What a game, Mariners fans!
We witnessed an impressive performance from our boys in navy and teal as they took down the Astros 5-3 in Houston. The stars of the evening had to be Leody Taveras, Miles Mastrobuoni, and Cal Raleigh, each contributing to the scoreboard in a thrilling display of power hitting.Slow Start but Powerful Finish
Despite the top of the 1st and 2nd innings being quiet with no runs scored, Leody Taveras broke the ice in the 3rd inning with a booming home run to right field putting us on the board.
The excitement didn't stop there as Miles Mastrobuoni also homered in the 5th inning to even the score at 2-2. The real fireworks went off in the 7th innings thanks to Cal Raleigh who, after Julio RodrÃguez's clutch double that tied the game, launched a two-run homer to give us a decisive 5-3 lead!Stellar Defense Shuts Down the Astros
Our pitching and defense were top-notch, effectively silencing the Astros' heavy hitters. Matt Brash and Vargas were instrumental in containing the Astros after they momentarily took the lead in the 5th inning. Finally, we could all breathe easy as Andrés Muñoz came in to close out the game, quickly dispatching the last Houston batters with ease.
